frivolous friday - hobbit houses

These intriguing cave house photos (which I put into collage) came to me in an email forward. Aren't they incredible? This short note of explanation about their age and location came with the email:

In the north east of Iran at the foot of Mount Sahand in Kandovan, the villagers live in cave homes carved out from the volcanic rock. The age of some houses is more than 700 years.

Don't they look as cozy inside as out?

These homes are really neat. It's more like cave apartments in a scense. Very good photos too. This world always has something that we all haven't seen before. I moved out to Oklahoma, and people told me there wasn't much to it. It's not all flat like most people think, it's got caves and mountains and big forests like my home state, North Carolina. But it does have the plains and high plains also. I enjoy photographing and videoing the scenery and the storms out here. I enjoyed your photos, you do a good job.
